The breath of God has infused the human mind and inspired artists through the ages. We experience God though all our senses.
Independent Presbyterian Church has played a significant role in music and the arts in Birmingham. The November Organ Recital Series began in 1965 and is one of the longest running organ series in the nation. Both the organ recital and annual Religious Arts Festivals bring world-class artists to the area. Since the first Christmas Concert in 1964, the IPC Choir has presented more than 175 concerts and special services locally and around the world.
All of these free, public events are funded through endowments and the yearly operating budget of the church. Please join us and experience God in new ways through the arts.

Upcoming Music Events
World renowned organist Vincent Dubois and 48 members of the Alabama Symphony will present a free concert that will fill the Sanctuary with incredible music by composers Marcel Dupré and Franz Liszt. This free concert series has been established to present internationally acclaimed organ concert artists to perform music for organ and orchestra.
IPC's organ is given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Joseph W. Schreiber, who served Independent Presbyterian Church with excellence and dedication for 34 years.
On May 17 at 4 pm, the IPC Choir will present their Spring “Bon Voyage” Concert in the Sanctuary. The first half will consist of well-known anthems that will be presented in concert during the 2026 Choir Tour to Switzerland. This is 30 minutes of music from the vast repertoire of the choir that has been heard in worship this Spring. The second half of the concert will feature the choir with string orchestra performing the "Solemn Vespers" by W.A. Mozart. Soloists will be soprano Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk, alto Lara Wilson, tenor Austin Green, and bass Richard Stump. Please come with your friends to this beautiful afternoon of music as we wish the choir bon voyage!
The IPC Choir will travel to Switzerland May 25 through June 3!
